What is it?
The idea here is creating content that promotes or references other creators within your niche.
You then make those creators aware of the content you've produced that features them.
If it's high-quality, provides value to their audience, and promotes them positively, they'll likely share and amplify it through their own channels.
Corey Haines, one of the pioneers of this technique, defines permissionless co-marketing as:
“having a ‘give first’ approach to the way that you interact with people you eventually want to collaborate with in the future.”
Examples of influencers you might reference would include YouTubers, bloggers, podcasters or authors in your niche. Anyone with an audience you want to get in front of!
Basically, you’re riding the coattails of established creators' followings.
