What is it?

Refind is a platform that offers paid advertising opportunities to get your newsletter promoted to its 488,000 “curious minds”.

If you cover technical subjects like software or data science, running some test Refind ad campaigns could be worthwhile to see if you can tap into that curious readership.

Refind lets you pay to be included as a recommendation in their platform.

But if your newsletter doesn't align well with those interests, conversions are likely to be low even if you do drive traffic.

The idea is that your newsletter sign-up link appears in one of these slots as a recommendation sent to Refind subscribers.

You pay on a performance basis: Per click or per subscriber acquired.

Unlike more advanced platforms such as SparkLoop, there is no subscriber quality or engagement screening. So you need to keep a close track on the ROI of refind campaigns and begin with small budgets to test.

Some huge newsletters are seeing success at a smaller scale with refind. They tend to be like Morning Brew: A very broad audience demographic, with sophisticated engagement screening for new subscribers.

Unfortunately, we haven't been able to find many success stories yet.

If you have a very technical audience, it’s worth throwing a small investment in as a test or to kickstart growth of a smaller newsletter.
